We've been renewed for our THIRD year of internships! Last year we had over 60 successful internships!  We hope to place even more interns this coming year.

Many businesses in our region do not know what intern opportunities are out there and how to access them.  This program was designed to bolster the role of internships in the private sector across our region - Ontario, Yates, Seneca, and Wayne Counties and help stimulate our local economy.

This program is open to all students currently enrolled in a college undergraduate degree program, or students enrolled in high school or technical institutions, who are 16-24 years of age with a GPA of 75% or higher. Please see the Students/Qualifications page for more information!

To assure that these placements meet the needs of the student and the employer, the program uses Learning Agreements signed by the Internship Coordinator, the intern, the parent (if intern is under 18), and the employer.

This Learning Agreement will describe the goals and objectives of the internship, based on an assessment of the student's career interests. It will include:

  • Detailed job description
  • 3 specific learning objectives, 2 learning activities
  • Skills assessment
  • Dedicated internship supervisor
  • Evaluation criteria

For those cases where the school will approve academic credit to paid interns for participating in an internship, the learning agreement must specify the goals, milestones, or standards required in order for the school to award academic credit.

All interns interested in receiving credit MUST get approval from their academic advisor prior to starting an internship.
