Fact 2—What if we have never hired an intern? No worries. The Internship Coordinator will assist in the creation and maintenance of an effective internship in order to meet the needs of the employers and the students.
Fact 3—What do I have to pay? At least minimum wage ($7.15 per hour) for a minimum of 20 hours for 6 weeks.
Fact 4—What are my responsibilities? As described in the Employer Agreement, will work with the Internship Coordinator in developing the job description, provide on site supervision and mentoring, compliance with the labor laws, provide workers’ compensation coverage, maintain time sheets and payroll records, and pay the employee.
Fact 5—How do I hire an intern? FLWIB will process applications and match applicants with employer needs. The employer will then hold an interview and make the final hiring decision.
